African Black Soap can be used for the treatment of problems on all types of skin including dry and rough, oily and moderate skins. It is a fair trade product and is vegan-friendly.

This product is made entirely from 100% natural, unrefined, local ingredients. Our African Black Soap is handcrafted in Ghana, using a traditional recipe and methods handed down for centuries. Due to the fact it is handmade with local, unrefined ingredients, the color, scent, and texture may vary from batch to batch.

This all-natural soap works for all skin conditions. It is loaded with anti-aging properties that exfoliate your skin leaving it soft and smooth. Excellent for both body and face, this soap can be used by men, women, and children.

HOW TO USE: Do not apply the actual bar directly to the skin, especially the face. This soap may contain particles of ash, which may be irritating to the skin. Lather with a washcloth or sponge to cleanse the skin. Rinse afterward.

Discontinue use if irritation occurs. The PH of African black soap may vary from batch to batch. Many find this product very moisturizing and excellent for their sensitive skin. However, if you find it drying to your skin it is super important to follow up with a moisturizer. Some have also mentioned a tingle or slight burning sensation when washing their face. This is also normal for some skin types and is temporary. Again, follow with a moisturizer afterward.

How to care for your bar of African Black Soap: This soap contains a high amount of glycerin that is created during the saponification process. It is a soft bar of soap that may break into pieces or crumble. This is normal. It is very important to keep your bar of soap dry between uses. Also, It may develop a white film while drying. This is also normal. If you would like to avoid the white film you may store it in a sealed container. However, it is important that it is completely dry before being stored. Do not store this bar in wet or humid conditions as it will break down faster than normal. If you would like to save the integrity of the bar, you may break off pieces to use for a one time use. You can also break off a piece and melt it into a mug of hot water and use the liquid as a body wash or shampoo.

NOTE: Raw black soap, like any natural soap, may have a thin white coating of soda ash on the outside on all or part of the soap. It sometimes forms when the soap comes into contact with the air. It is rinsed away after the first use. Since this is naturally occurring and is not a defect, no refunds will be made if your bar has any soda ash on it. If you don't want your soap to possibly have soda ash on it please don't purchase this raw black soap.

This is a must have product!!

MY SKIN GLOWS!!! This soap is positively amazing!!! So, I thought that this product may be difficult to care for correctly. I was SO WRONG! It is EASY to care for! I use this method - I break a tiny piece off, roll in and warm it in my hand, place it onto a very hot washcloth, rub it in well, and by the time I have rubbed it in, the washcloth has cooled to the nice lukewarm temperature that we want. I massage the washcloth over my face for several minutes, and then I rinse with cool water. I simply place the soap back into its original packaging once I've broken a piece off. This keeps it in a dry dark place. This bar will last so long! LOVE IT!
